I founded Dalija with no formal education or training in fashion. My background instead lies in law and business, but I saw an opportunity to shape that foundation into something meaningful. Like many young women, I was drawn to ultra-luxury handbags, but as I began working full-time after graduating university, I realised this no longer aligned with how I wanted to spend my money. When I couldn't find a handbag that struck the right balance, I decided to create it myself.

Our story really began on my lunch breaks, wandering through the city in search of the perfect handbag - something timeless, well-crafted, well-priced, and able to elevate any look. However, all I kept finding were two extremes: fast-fashion designs or ultra-luxury pieces with price tags that felt out of reach. From that search, Dalja was born. Dalija is an Australian brand rooted in intention, crafting timeless designs from high-quality materials in small, considered quantities. Our first signature silhouette, 'the Origin Bag' is crafted from a 100% leather exterior and 100% cotton lining, to adhere to our commitment to quality materials and enduring pieces. The Origin Bag is intentionally versatile, from your day-to-day to wine nights with friends, and every moment in between. Every piece is crafted to encourage thoughtful, informed, and intentional purchases - designed for you to return to, again and again.
